Who are Valerie Au Ciel
Based in Canada’s Capital City Ottawa, performers Ciel (left)
and Valerie (right) have been training and performing
together since 2021.
Combining partner & dance acrobatics, contortion, clown, aerial arts, fire-spinning flow, animation and elements of drag performance, they have experience in a variety of settings ranging from professional black box theatre
shows, private parties, children’s entertainment, and sketch
comedy variety shows.
When you book us, you’re supporting two dedicated performers who invest countless hours in training, preparation, and the artistry required to bring high-quality acts to life. Our pricing reflects the years of effort it has taken to become performance-ready, as well as the ongoing weekly training we do to maintain and elevate our skills.
Duo Lyra: example
Our Duo Lyra act combines grace, strength, and tension to create an unforgettable aerial performance. We provide the lyra and offer a wide range of costume themes, including “Snakes in Trees,” Duo Spider-Man, fairy picnics, and more. Please note that this act requires a rigging point at your venue.
Duo Flying Pole: example
A captivating performance that seamlessly blends strength and artistry, our flying pole act is designed to leave a lasting impression. We provide the pole and costumes but require a suitable 13-foot rigging point at your venue. Featured routines include our whimsical “Space Frogs” act, complete with oversized frog heads, or a fully customized routine tailored to your event’s theme and specifications.
Clowntortion or Partner Acrobatics: example
This versatile, floor-based act is ideal for venues without aerial rigging capabilities or with smaller performance areas. Our partner acrobatics performance can be customized to suit your event, both in movement style and costuming. It can feature storytelling elements and multiple acts, as seen in our performance for Small Fish last October, or provide dynamic crowd interaction, like the synchronized tricks we showcased at the Jazz Age event in September. Roving and Crowd Interaction: example
We are experienced in creating lively and interactive atmospheres. Whether it’s random acrobatic interludes, balloon twisting, face painting small designs for kids, or blowing bubbles for the crowd, we can tailor our roving performances to fit your event’s theme and needs.
Solo Aerial acts: example
Valerie and Ciel are both multidisciplinary aerial artists with experience building routines on Lyra (hoop), Flying Pole as well as static pole, Silks, Corde Lisse (rope), Loops and more. Please reach out if you are looking for individual performances as well.
Modeling
We specialize in two-person acrobatic poses and are passionate about collaborating with queer creatives. If you have a unique idea, we would love to bring it to life together.
